Design Consultation |
| |
|
An on site meeting to listen to your
thoughts, desires and goals for your property, to gather
information for the Landscape Design process and to gain
an understanding of the scope of the work and time
involved. This typically involves a walk through the
property, listening to you, providing appropriate
feedback, asking questions, examining views inside and
out, viewing pictures of plant material and a look at a
photo portfolio of implemented designs. Usually one to
two hours but may take up to four hours.
Or:
An on site meeting to provide help with a specific
problem or design feature. Examples are: layouts of
driveways, walks, patios, walls, fences, bed lines, etc.
on the ground using paint/stakes or simple sketch
layouts of plant material on paper. |

Landscape Design |

A labeled, scale schematic drawing will
be produced showing locations of essential design
elements such as buildings, fences, walks, walls,
patios, lawns, bed lines, plantings, etc. A materials
list and key showing material names and quantities will
be included. The scale drawing may be limited to one or
two areas or include the entire property depending on
your needs. |

Project Management |

|
Establish the order of business.
Coordinate your contractors. Provide on site instruction
and supervision to you or your labor. Help with decision
making throughout the project. Layout or position key
landscape features. |

Horticultural Consultation |
| |
|
An on site meeting to provide
information and advice on topics such as: lawn care and
renovation, ornamental tree, shrub and perennial care
(pruning, dead-heading, cutting back, feeding, watering,
mulching, etc.), pest management, plant identification
and when to call in a specialist. Keep a notebook handy.
You’ll receive much valuable information. |

Shopping Service |

Meet at a nursery, garden center or
landscape supply co. to help you select materials for
your project. |

Referral Service |
| |
|
A free service to all clients to put you
in touch with the right person(s) for the job at hand:
landscape maintenance, landscape installation, lawn
care, arborists, irrigation specialists, masons, pest
control, pool or water feature contractors, and
electrical contractors. Hemingway Designs does not
provide installation or maintenance services directly
but will gladly refer you to the right person(s). |

Rates |

Hemingway Designs charges an on site
daily rate of $100 for the first hour ($75 for sites in
Sandwich, MA) and $50 per hour thereafter for Design
Consultation, Horticultural Consultation, Project
Management and Shopping Service. A fixed price or range,
based on the above hourly rate, will be quoted for
Landscape Design service. If a range is quoted the final
price will not exceed the top end of the range. A 50%
deposit is required to proceed with the Landscape Design
Phase. Landscape Design fees start at about $300 for
small or simple projects and increase with the size and
complexity of the project. Fees for large projects can
run several thousand dollars. Some clients choose to
have the work done in phases to spread the cost out over
a number of months or years. |
