Before we Meet
Think about:
What are your goals for our first meeting?
What are your goals for your landscape this year?
What about the next three to five years?
Are walks and steps adequate? Are they safe and
esthetically pleasing? Do you need to improve access
and circulation around your property?
Is the driveway adequate? Is there enough turn around
and parking space?
Do you need more space for outdoor entertaining,
cooking and relaxing? (patios or decks)
Are there any erosion issues, unsafe embankments or a need to create a level area? (retaining walls)
Do you have any drainage issues?
Do you want more privacy and/or control of foot
traffic? (fences and screens)
Where will the children play? How much lawn space do you need? How do you feel about use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides on your lawn? What level of perfection do you want? How is your soil? How do you plan to irrigate your lawn? Will you let it go dormant in the summer? Is water conservation a priority for you?
Do you like your landscape manicured, natural, formal, informal or somewhere in between? Do you desire continual bloom, cut flowers or fruits and vegetables? Would you like to attract and support birds and butterflies?
Is low maintenance a priority? Do you like to garden? How much time per week do you want to spend maintaining your landscape? Will you do it yourself or hire help? How will you water your plants? Again, is water conservation a priority for you?
Are you interested in increasing curb appeal and resale value? (who isn’t?)
How much would you like to invest in your landscape; this year; over the next three to five years?
